Privacy Statement for Atea Finland Oy's Events and Webinars

This privacy statement describes how Atea Finland Oy ("Atea") collects and processes personal data in connection with its events and webinars. The processing and storage of personal data is based on the consent given by the data subject. As the data controller, we are committed to processing your personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the Data Protection Act (1050/2018), and other applicable data protection legislation.

The data subject must accept the terms of this privacy statement to register for an Atea event or webinar.

2. Data Subjects

Individuals registered for the event or webinar.

3. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data

The processing and storage of personal data is based on the data subject's consent. If the required information for registering for the event or webinar is not provided, Atea cannot accept the person's registration for the event or webinar.

Data is not used for automated decision-making.

Personal data is processed only for predefined purposes, which include:

  • Targeted communication related to the event or webinar
  • Organization of the event or webinar
  • Targeted marketing
  • Statistical analysis related to the event or webinar

4. Categories of Processed Personal Data

  • First and last name
  • Title and organization
  • Email address
  • Phone number if required for events
  • Dietary restrictions if required for events

5. Rights of the Data Subject

Each individual in the register has the right to:

  • Access to their data 
  • Request rectification of any incorrect or incomplete data. If the data is incorrect/incomplete, the data subject can request that processing be restricted until the data is inspected and/or corrected
  • Request the erasure of their data

Requests should be sent by email to Atea's Data Protection Officer at dpo@atea.fi.

The data subject also has the right to file a complaint with the supervisory authority (Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman) if they believe that the processing of their personal data violates the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

6. Regular Data Disclosures

The event or webinar may be organized in collaboration with a partner. In this case, the processed personal data will be disclosed to the partner. The partner will act as an independent data controller for the disclosed data. The partner is named in the event or webinar invitation or on the event page.

Potential event or webinar organizing and marketing organizations that may process personal data include:

  • Luxid Group Oy
  • Management Events Studio Oy
  • Event design and implementation company Tapaus Oy (Tapaus)

Appropriate personal data processing agreements have been made with third parties.

7. Principles of Data Security and Data Retention

Data is stored securely.

Access to personal data is limited to those employees of Atea and the organizing and marketing organizations who need the data to perform their duties related to the event or webinar.

Personal data related to the event or webinar is retained for the necessary period to fulfill the purposes defined in this privacy statement, but no longer than 12 months after the event.

After this, personal data is deleted from the register. If the individual's personal data is in another customer register of Atea due to, for example, a customer relationship, the personal data will be retained in that register in accordance with another legal basis defined in the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

8. Transfer of Personal Data Outside the EU

Atea does not transfer personal data outside the EU or EEA.
